Cookie Policy

Effective Date:  August 31, 2022

Management Controls, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively, MCi, us, or we) understand that your privacy is important to you, and are committed to being transparent about the technologies we use.  This Cookie Policy explains how and why cookies, web beacons, pixels, clear gifs, and other similar technologies (collectively, Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies) may be stored on and accessed from your device when you use or visit any MCi website or app (collectively the Sites), as well as your rights to control our use of them.  This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

WHAT ARE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

A cookie is a small or simple text file containing a string of characters that is sent to and stored on your device when you visit a Site.  When you visit the Site again, the cookie is accessed by the Site and allows that Site to recognize your browser.  Each cookie is unique to your web browser.

The other tracking technologies work similarly to cookies and place small data files on your devices or monitor your website activity to enable us to collect information about how you use our Sites.  This allows our Sites to recognize your device from those of other users of the Sites.  The information below about cookies also applies to these other tracking technologies.  You can find more information at www.allaboutcookies.org.

FIRST AND THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

First Party Cookies are cookies that belong to MCi and that MCi places on your device.  Third-Party Cookies are cookies that another party places on your device through our Sites.  MCi may contract with third-party service providers for certain features or functions to be provided on or through a Site (for example, analytics).  The third-parties that send these Third-Party Cookies can recognize your browser both when it visits a Site and also when it visits certain other websites.

For more details on how these companies collect and use information on our behalf, please refer to their privacy policies as indicated below.

HOW DO OUR SITES USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

MCi uses certain Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies for technical reasons in order for our Sites to operate, such as to control access to certain content on our Sites, protect the Sites, and process any requests that you make of us.  In addition, MCi uses Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies to identify you and your interests, remember your preferences, and track your use of and interaction with our Sites to enhance your experience.

For marketing and research purposes, MCi has also contracted with third-party service providers to track and analyze statistical usage and volume information from our Site users.  These third-party service providers use Cookies to help us improve the user experience, manage our Site content, and analyze how users navigate and utilize the Sites.

What types of Cookies does MCi use and how does MCi use them?

Depending on the Site, we use the following types of cookies:

PERSISTENT COOKIES

We use persistent Cookies to improve your experience of using the Sites.  This includes recording your acceptance of our Cookie Policy to remove the cookie message that first appears when you use the Sites.

SESSION COOKIES

Session Cookies are temporary and deleted from your machine when your web browser closes.  We use session Cookies to help us track internet usage as described above. We retain information collected in connection with Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies for so long as necessary to fulfill the purposes or where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so.

Our Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies are used for the following purposes:

STRICTLY NECESSARY/TECHNICAL COOKIES

These Cookies are necessary to allow us to operate our Sites so you may access them as you have requested.  These Cookies, for example, help make the Sites usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the Sites.  They also include Cookies that enable us to remember your previous actions within the same browsing session and secure our Sites.  The Sites cannot function properly without these cookies.

PREFERENCE/FUNCTIONALITY COOKIES

These Cookies let us operate the Sites according to your choices.  These Cookies permit us to “remember” you in-between visits and remember information that changes the way the Sites behave or look.  For instance, we will recognize your username and remember how you customized the Sites and services, for example, by adjusting text size, fonts, languages, the region that you are in, and other parts of web pages that are alterable and provide you with the same customizations during future visits.

ANALYTICAL/STATISTICAL/PERFORMANCE COOKIES

These Cookies are used by us or third-party service providers to analyze how the Sites are used and how they are performing.  For example, these Cookies track what pages are most frequently visited, and what locations our visitors come from.  If you subscribe to a newsletter or otherwise register with the Sites, these Cookies may be correlated to you.

MARKETING/THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING

These Cookies collect information about your activities on the Sites and other websites to provide you with targeted advertising and ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user.  We may also allow our third-party service providers to use Cookies on the Sites for the same purposes identified above, including collecting information about your online activities over time and across different websites.  These Cookies may also be used to enable you to share pages and content that you find interest on our Sites through third-party social networking and other websites.  The third-party service providers that generate these Cookies have their own privacy policies and may use their Cookies to target advertising to you on their websites, based on your visit to our Sites.

HOW DO I REFUSE OR WITHDRAW MY CONSENT TO THE USE OF COOKIES?

If you do not want Cookies to be dropped on your device, you can adjust the setting of your Internet browser to reject the setting of all or some Cookies and to alert you when a Cookie is placed on your device.  For further information about how to do so, please refer to your browser ‘help’, ‘tool’, or ‘edit’ section or see www.allaboutcookies.org.  If you are in the European Union (EU) and would like to opt-out of third-party cookies related to internet-based advertising, please go to www.youronlinechoices.eu.

If you want to remove previously-stored Cookies, you can manually delete the Cookies at any time.  However, this will not prevent the Sites from placing further Cookies on your device unless and until you adjust your Internet browser setting as described above.

Please note that if you use your browser settings to block all Cookies (including Strictly Necessary Cookies), you may not be able to access or use all or parts of the functionalities of our Sites.

HOW DO WE USE OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR COMMUNICATIONS?

MCi may collect information about whether you open or click any links on or in the Sites or communications that we send to you through Other Tracking Technologies (such as clear GIFs, web beacons, or web bugs).  In contrast to Cookies, which are stored on a device’s hard drive, Other Tracking Technologies may be embedded invisibly on Sites or in emails.

A web beacon is a graphic image which is placed on a website or in an email that alone or in conjunction with cookies compile information about your usage of or your interaction with a Site.  For example, we may add web beacons to communications that we send to you to determine whether you have opened our emails or clicked a link within an email or a Site.  The analysis gathered helps us improve the effectiveness of the content and format of our websites and email communications.

In addition, emails from us often use links designed to lead you to a relevant area on the web, after redirection through our servers.  The redirection system allows us to change the destination URL of these links, if necessary, and to determine the effectiveness of our communications.  In emails, such web links may also allow us to determine whether you have clicked a link in an email, and information about this interaction may be connected to your personal identity.

HOW DO I REFUSE OR WITHDRAW MY CONSENT TO THE USE OF OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGY IN EMAIL?

You may avoid web beacons by configuring your email reader program to disable the functionality that enables remote images to load (this feature varies depending on the email software used on your device).  However, this may not always disable a web beacon or Other Tracking Technology in the email message due to specific email software capabilities.  For more information, please refer to your email software or service provider.

If you do not want us to collect information about the links that you click, you can choose privacy settings in your browser and/or email client that restricts this information.  You can also refrain from clicking on links in email messages.

HOW OFTEN WILL THIS COOKIE POLICY BE UPDATED?

MCi may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to the Cookies and Other Tracking Technology we use and how we use them, or for other operational, legal, or regulatory purposes.  We will notify you of any material changes to this Cookie Policy by posting the changes on this page.  Please revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies.
